Windhoff has obtained a new contract for 3 self-propelled firefighting, rescue and recovery trains from SBB Switzerland<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=“No Line“ custom_height=“20″][vc_column_text]Windhoff Bahn- und Anlagentechnik GmbH, Germany together with the Dr\u00e4ger Safety AG & Co. KGaA, professionals in the field of medical and safety technology, developed the next generation of self-propelled firefighting and rescue trains which will be delivered by the end of 2018.<\/p>\n

The all new vehicles for the SBB will be stationed in Geneva, Melide and Brig to serve the SBB CEVA-line (Geneva Cornavin – Eaux.Vives – Annemasse) inside the Ceneri base tunnel as well as L\u00f6tschberg tunnel, Simplon and Wallis. With these strategic stations the SBB is able to cover each spot in this railroad network with in the specified intervention time.<\/p>\n

Each consist includes rescue vehicles, an equipment car and a firefighting car. The maximum travel speed of the loaded train consist is 100 km\/h and in case of a break down inside the tunnel the Windhoff LRZ can grant safe towing up to 1.600 to. Both, the operator stand and the rescue vehicle are equipped with an independent air supply system. In case of an emergency each rescue car can evacuate 60 persons. The 50.000 L fire-fighting tank and the foam installations ensure fast and safe extinguishing.<\/p>\n
